A celebrity server event with players from the Peterborough Major Atom AE Petes raised $1,070 for the Canadian Cancer Society on Sunday.

The young athletes served lunch and dinner at St. Louis Bar and Grill on Lansdowne St. W. in Peterborough from 1 to 7 p.m.

Restaurant owner Chris Orbin donated 15 per cent from every bill during that time to the players' cause.

A portion of the funds will go toward the Pink in the Rink initiative that's happening at the Peterborough Petes home game on Feb. 2. The remainder of the money will go directly to CCS.
