“To win this tournament was a fantastic accomplishment for our boys,” states Shawn Micks, Head Coach. “The competition was strong throughout the tournament. The semi finals and final games were pretty intense in the beginning as we started behind in both games into the first period. Our opponents came on strong but our team quickly picked up their game to qualify and win the finals. This win was a total collaboration by all of our players. The boys played discipline hockey, everybody contributed and they came together as a team and supported each other. It took everyone on this team to win gold.”

Rob Baker, Assistant coach said, “The boys stayed focused, stuck to the game plan for the weekend and felt the rewards at the end by winning gold.”

“Every player had their shining moment,” noted Tim Killingbeck, Assistant Coach. “It was a team effort with a solid defense shutting other teams down, a solid offence that contributed to lots of goal scoring and great passing, and strong goaltenders who had few goals against.”
