Service Master Restore Minor Peewee AE Petes Sweep a Full Weekend of Hockey
The Service Master Restore Minor Peewee AE Petes had a big weekend, securing three wins and moving into second place in league standings.

The Petes opened the weekend with a trip to Whitby on Friday night (November 2), where they faced off against the Wildcats White team. The Petes came out flying and opened the scoring on the first shift of the game thanks to a goal from DJ Crough. The Petes built off the early goal and Matthew Sokolski and Will Mattie added a pair of goals to have the Petes up 3-1 at the end of the first.  It looked like things were going to be blown wide open when Josh Watson netted an early second period goal, but the Wildcats weren’t willing to go down easy and stormed back with three straight goals to knot the game at 4 goals each heading into the third. The tie would finally be broken when Crough scored his second of the night with 2 minutes remaining and gave the Petes the 5-4 victory. Assists during the game went to Riley Hagerman (2), Sawyer Spencley (2), James Chandra, Olivia Mercer, Rylan Scott and Sam Dickey, with Crough being named the hardest working player of the game.

The Petes had a quick turnaround and played host to the Oshawa Generals on Saturday afternoon. After a scoreless first period, the Petes broke through with the opening goal when Joe Donoghue jumped into the rush to take a pass from Crough and bury it in the back of the net. Crough would continue his strong play and give the Petes some breathing room when he notched his own goal in the opening minute of the third, and then would finish things off with an empty netter to give the Petes a 3-0 victory. Other assists during the game went to Jordan Garfat, Hagerman and Chandra, with Nathan Crossley in net to pick up the shutout. Hagerman was named as the hardest working player for the Petes.

The Petes wrapped up their weekend with a Sunday afternoon game versus the Belleville Bulls, the winner of the game would be moving into second place in Lakeshore standings. This game turned out to be a defensive battle supported by strong goaltending at both ends of the ice. The Petes managed to score the only goal of the game late in the first period when Sam Dickey netted a power play goal, assisted by Sokolski and Spencley. Adam McGinn earned the shutout for the Petes and Jack Pacey was named the hardest working player of the game.

Next up for the Petes is another 3 game weekend where the Petes will faceoff against Whitby White, Pickering and Belleville.

The Petes would like to thank their sponsor of the week – Ricart Promotions & Recognition.
