It was an afternoon that started out with lights, cameras
and then action.
The Novice AA Under Armour Petes had a big game this afternoon at home against
Ajax, but first had to look their best for team photos. These young players
donned the Pete’s maroon and white with pride as they looked their best in
pictures, then carried that pride onto the ice to defend their arena with the
support of the hometown crowd.
The key messages for this game were to get their heads up and make a play, be hard on the puck, and play their positions.
Not only did they hear these messages, but they put them into action on the ice. They played their positions well, passed the puck well, and finished their checks. Their speed did not go unnoticed either; especially when having to tag up to the boards at the end of a shift. They knew that their team mates couldn’t hit the ice, until they had all tagged up
They played as a team, unselfishly, to come out on top, with big wins at both ends of the ice.
Over the past month, these young Pete’s are really growing and coming together as a team, and all the while making a name for themselves across the Lakeshore League.
The Novice AA Petes are back in action in Whitby October 5.
