December Starts off on a High Note
The Novice AA Under Armour Petes started the month of December off right – with team bonding, continued success as a team and giving back to their community.

On December 7, the Petes volunteered at Kawartha Food Share where they learned about the importance of giving back to the less fortunate in the community. They put their teamwork to the test and, in less than an hour Parade.jpgand a half, they completed what would have taken over 16 hours for food share staff to achieve.

That evening, they were selected to represent the Peterborough Petes and the PHA in the Peterborough Santa Claus Parade. In their Petes jerseys, they were cheerful, respectful and handed out thousands of candy canes and all while having a great time.

The spirit from these events carried the team into their game in Ajax the following day.

Finding their legs was not an issue in this game; the Petes were fast, faster than Ajax. They were first on the puck more, and if they weren’t, they battled hard to get it back.Ajax.JPG

The pregame talk highlighted the importance of getting the puck to the net, and not stopping until the ref blew the whistle. It was about battling, finding those rebounds and finishing every play. And they did just that. When the Petes were able to get that small black puck to the net, they found those rebounds and put them to the back of the net. When they got the puck past Ajax’s tenders, they quickly backed up from the net, turned around, and were ready for Ajax to do their best to get past them. This proved much harder for Ajax, and the Petes once again came out victorious.

The Novice AA Under Armour Petes are back in action December 15 at home vs North Durham.
