Game Results: Game @ Whitby Wildcats
Last night the Peterborough Mr. Sub U15 AE Petes travelled to Whitby to battle the Wildcats.  This would be the teams first game following the winter break and the players were eager to get onto the ice to continue their success after handing the Belleville Bulls their first loss of the season.

The first period started slowly as both sides were a little rusty after being off for a week and a half.  Then after only two minutes into the game Whitby was awarded a power play on a questionable tripping call.  This would prove costly for the Petes as the Wildcats took full advantage of the opportunity and scored to take the lead 1-0.  The Petes though would quickly respond with a goal of their own a minute later and tie the game 1-1.  The game would go back and forth with chances until the Wildcats would get a goal from a scramble in front of the Petes net which would result in Carter K. being pushed into his net while making the save.  The Petes though would show their resilience and answer back with a goal of their own.  The game then turned rough as the Wildcats would attempt to assert themselves physically.  As a result of their play the Wildcats would get assessed three consecutive penalties with their last one being a ten-minute major and a Game Misconduct.  Two Petes players would be injured during these exchanges and only one would be able to return to play.  The Petes tried hard to make the Wildcats pay for their undisciplined play but were unable to take advantage of their powerplays.  The score at the end of the first period would be 2-2.

The second period started like the first period ended with the Wildcats again asserting themselves physically and the Petes trying to use their speed and skill to take control of the game.  The Wildcats though would stay out of the penalty box this time and be the only team to score giving them the lead in the game 3-2 by the end of the second period.

In the third period the Petes took to the ice determined to take back control of the game.  However, this would not happen as the Petes would run out of gas in the tank because of having a shortened bench due to injuries.  The Wildcats would close out the game scoring one in the period to make the final 4-2 in favor of the Whitby Wildcats.

Goals scored by: Hayven W., DJ C.

The Petes next game is against the Oshawa Generals on Wednesday, January 12th @ 8:15 PM in Oshawa.
