The Peterborough Tyke MD 7 White Petes won the Bradford Blue and Gold Tournament Dec. 1-3 with a 4-0 record while outscoring opponents 21-1. The Peterborough Tyke MD 7 White Petes won the Bradford Blue and Gold Tournament championship on Dec. 3.

 

The Petes opened tournament play with a 7-0 win over the Milton Winter Hawks led by Matty Colling's strong play in net. They finished pool play on the Saturday with 5-0 wins over the Dunda Blues and George Bell Titans. They advanced directly to the final without giving p a goal against.

In the championship game, the Petes defeated the Ajax Knights, one of their regular season league rivals, 4-1. Ajax scored the first goal but the Petes replied quickly to tie it and added three more in the game's second half.

The Petes showed a balanced offence through four games with goals coming from Gage Cooper-Bailey, Kai Kekki, Sawyer Cook, Will Watkins, Dax Arnott, Wes Elliott, Callum Ashfield and Troy Lester. Strong defensive support came from Owen Whittington and Tyson Hawley. Forwards Evan Watson, Luke Van Tol and Marco Bianco contributed assists.

The team participated in a mini-game during the first intermission at Thursday’s Peterborough Petes OHL game at the Memorial Centre.
