47s Face Off Against Their Moms
The Peterborough 47s faced their hardest opponents yesterday at the Evinrude Centre....their moms. This matchup had been talked about for weeks and the players had been chirping their moms all morning.

The game started off a bit slow. The moms didn’t give it everything they had at the beginning of the game...they underestimated the speed and edge work of their children, as well as their desire to beat their moms. These kids had something to prove. They would not be beat by the women that brought them into this world.

The first time moms in net proved to be advantageous for the 47s. They were able to snipe a few quick ones. But the moms weren’t going to let their kids take the win that easily. It took a few shifts, but eventually the moms found their groove. They regrouped and were able to get a few back.

All moms found the back of the net...some for the first time in their hockey careers.
Some moms were experienced, some were on the ice for the first time, but they came together as a team prior to the game to ensure that the 47s knew they meant business.

At the end of the hour no one knew the actual score. The end result was a greatNC.jpg game, full of laughs where the players were so excited to have the opportunity to play against their moms.

The day ended a bit bittersweet though. One of the 47s players, Nolan Casselman, is embarking on a 6 month adventure with his family, so this game had been his last this season. The 47s had a send off at Pulse Physiotherapy with pizza and cupcakes to say their good byes.
