Split Decision
This past Sunday, the Peterborough 47’s faced off against Ajax at the Evinrude Centre in Peterborough. The team was down one player, which meant double shifting, but they were up to the task.

The players came out of the gate a bit sluggish – a few bad habits had formed from the game against their moms the day before. They didn’t have their legs, and they were not playing their positions well; not the way their coaches had seen them play in the past. After a few shifts though, and some encouragement from the bench staff and their team mates, the players got their game back.

N.Werry.JPGThe pace of the game picked up. It was back and forth between the two teams. At the buzzer signalling the end of the first period Ajax had won at one end and Peterborough at the other end. The Peterborough players switched sides, and another 24 minute battle ensued. The players got more aggressive, and the fans could tell these kids were back in the game. Once again, this period ended with Ajax winning on one side and Peterborough on the other.

On the split ice surface, the game ended in a split decision.

The hardest working warrior of the game was Nathaniel Werry.

The 47’s have a busy weekend ahead of them with a game in Cobourg Saturday and back home Sunday.
