Solid Weekend for the 47's
This past weekend the 47’s were scheduled to start in Cobourg and end at home.

Saturday saw the 47’s facing off against Northumberland. This matchup really showcased the 47’s ability to take control of a game. They played their system perfectly. Players were getting to the net, positioning themselves to be ready for a pass or a rebound. They tried to be first on theJ.Reil.jpg puck, and when they weren’t, they battled hard to get it back. They were aggressive in the corners and aggressive on the puck. They took this opportunity to bounce back from a not so stellar performance the last game.

Peterborough proved to be victorious over Northumberland, and they wanted to carry the momentum forwards to Sunday’s game.

The hardest working warrior of the game was Jace Reil.

Sunday, the 47s faced an even bigger challenge as they faced off once again against Ajax, in a rematch from the Sunday before. The last matchup between these two teams ended in a tie; the 47’s did not want the same outcome this time. They wanted to prove to their parents, their coaches and their fans that they were the strongest Tyke team in the Lakeshore region. Most importantly though, they wanted to prove it to themselves.

B.Buchner.JPGThe game started off with a lot of back and forth play. This game was as exciting to watch, as it was for the kids to play. The players brought their A game – they demonstrated their speed and stamina by maintaining such a high level of play throughout the entire game. There was no individualism in this game. The players dug deep and worked together towards one common goal – winning the game. And that is exactly what they did!! Their team work and drive, led them to a victory against a very strong Ajax team.

The hardest working warrior of this game was Bennett Buchner.

The 47’s play their final game of the season Sunday, March 3 vs Northumberland at the Evinrude.
