Kawartha Metals finish 2nd in Bradford
Kawartha Metals Minor Bantam RS Petes competed in the Bradford Blue and Gold Select Tournament Jan 16-18. The Petes would go undefeated until the final losing a tough one to the Cambridge Hornets 4-2.
In the round robin the Petes would go undefeated beating Erindale Spitfires 3-1, Port Credit Storm 7-2 and Duffield Devils 5-0. The Petes would now face a tough Burlington Bulldog team in the semi finals. After building a 4-0 lead the Petes sat back and watched the lead get to 4-3 and that's the way it would finish. In the Championship game the Petes would meet the Cambridge Hornets. Both teams unbeaten thus far in the tournament. The Petes would take a 2-0 lead into the third period only to see it tied one minute in at 2-2. Cambridge kept coming and would take a 4-2 lead and hold on the win the final.
This was a tough loss as it was the first of our season but the boys battled hard and should be very proud of their accomplishment. Great Tournament Guys!!
