Holiday Ford and RBC Dominion Securities Minor Atom A came
up with a loss and a win in 2 home games this weekend.
The Petes opened the weekend with a 2-3 loss to Quinte West
despite dominating most of the game. We controlled the puck strongly for the
first 2 periods of the game and had many scoring chances but were unable to beat
the Quinte Goaltender. Scoring for the Petes was Aedan Temple and Colby Kekki.
On Sunday, we came out strong and won 4-3 against the unbeaten first place Whitby Wildcats White. It was a great overall team effort and the forwards, defense and goaltender all showed up to win. The Petes opened the game scoring in the second period with a goal from Temple, assisted by Ashton Bell and Kekki. Casey Richardson scored and Temple added is second of the afternoon to end the second period in a tie 3-3. Helpers went to Kaleb Jamieson and Kekki, his second of the night. The team continued battle in the third and added the game winning goal by Calvin Hogan, assisted by Max Bidgood and Kaylynn Fisher. The solid effort by our defensemen and fantastic goaltending by Rhys Johnson kept the aggressive Whitby team at bay.
