FCI Windows Atom AA Peterborough Petes Off To The OMHA Championships
The FCI Windows Atom AA Peterborough Petes have advanced to the OMHA finals. The team earned a berth in the championships after sweeping the Barrie Colts in three games and allowing just three goals against all series.

Peterborough hosted Barrie for games one and two on Saturday (March 3) and Sunday (March 4).
Game one was a fairly even matchup, with Peterborough scoring a late third-period goal to skate away with the 2-1 win.
The Petes had a stronger performance in game two, taking a 1-0 lead in the first and expanding it to a 3-0 lead in the second with two shorthanded goals.
Barrie got on the board with their own shorthanded goal in the third period, but Peterborough scored late in the third period to win 4-1.
Game three was Tuesday, March 6 in Barrie. Despite making the long trek to Barrie on a Tuesday night, the Petes were full of energy and came out flying. The team dominated play from the opening face-off, opening up a 1-0 lead in the first period and stretching it to 3-0 in the second. The Petes would go on to win 5-1.
With the victory, the team clinched a spot in the OMHA championship final. They will face the winner of the Burlington-Orangeville series, which should wrap up this weekend (March 9 to 11).
This is the third year the team has played for an OMHA championship, having won the previous two times.
In the postseason, the Petes have a record of 9-1-1. In the opening round, they swept Whitby in three games.
In round two, they ran into trouble early on against the Clarington Toros, tying game one 2-2 and dropping game two by a score of 4-3.
Yet the team regrouped, and rattled off three straight shutout wins over the Toros to win the series and advance to the OMHA semifinals.
