Back-to-back shutout performances have helped give the FCI Window Atom AA Peterborough Petes a two-game lead in the OMHA championship series.
The team travelled to Orangeville this weekend for games one and two of the OMHA finals.
On Saturday, the Petes came out strong, controlling the play much of the game and skating away with a 4-0 win.
On Sunday, the Petes got the start they were looking for with a goal in the opening minutes of the first period. But Orangeville came storming back, keeping the game close throughout the first and second periods.
Peterborough finally made it 2-0 with a powerplay goal late in the second frame.
They would hold on for the 2-0 win.
Peterborough can close out the series and win the OMHA championship with a win on Saturday (March 24), 5:30 p.m., at the Memorial Centre.
Game four, if necessary, is Sunday (March 25), 1:15 p.m., at the Evinrude Centre, while game five would be back in Orangeville on March 31.
