Service Master Restore Atom AE Petes Unbeaten in 17
The Service Master Restore Atom AE Petes made it through a busy Remembrance Day weekend with their unbeaten streak intact.

On Friday night (Nov. 10) the Petes travelled to Oshawa where they saw the Generals push them to their limits.  It was obvious the Generals were not going to be intimidated by the Petes recent strong play and they proved it by scoring on the opening shift of the game. The Gens would go on to open up a 3-1 lead by the midway point of the second period, but the Petes were able to mount a late charge with a pair of unanswered goals that helped them salvage a tie.

The Petes goals came from Sam Dickey, James Chandra and Caeden Kent, with assists going to Kent, Archer Stalteri and Cole Stevens.

Saturday (Nov. 11)  the Petes would look to get back into the win column when they hosted the Ajax Knights. In a show of respect for our military personnel of past and present, both teams lined up at the blue line prior to the game for a moment of silence, which was especially memorable as practice coach Joe Stalteri was in attendance wearing his military dress uniform.

The Petes opened the scoring early in the first on a Josh Watson goal and followed it up moments later with a goal off the stick of Cole Scanlan.  Ajax’s defence and goaltending managed to stymie the Petes in the second period and a late period goal by the Knights brought them within a goal of catching the Petes. Kent managed to give the Petes some breathing room with a late third period goal that turned out to be necessary as the Knights scored in the dying seconds to make the final 3-2.

Assists during the game went to James Chandra, Joe Donoghue, Riley Hagerman and Adam Revak.

The Petes closed out their weekend with a Sunday night (Nov. 12) trip to Trenton where they would face the Quinte West Hawks.

Following a couple of close games, where the Petes weren’t firing on all cylinders, they looked like a new team as they took to the ice this day. The Petes scored on their first two shifts of the game and never looked back as they went on to win 9-0.

Goals during the game came from Hagerman (2), Stalteri (2), Tobey Skopelianos (2), Donoghue, Dickey and Kent.  Assists went to Stalteri (2), Watson (2), Skopelianos (2), Watson (2), Jayden Howson (2), Donoghue, Scanlan, Adam Revak and Olivia Mercer.

The Petes look to keep their unbeaten streak rolling as they head to Guelph this weekend for the Power Play tournament.

The Petes would like to thank our sponsor of the week Youth Now Canada.
