Glanbrook Tournament Champions
The Mazziotti and Associates Minor Peewee A Peterborough Petes captured the Glanbrook Fall Classic Hockey Tournament on Sunday (Sept 24) with a thrilling 1-0 victory over the Dundas Blues.  Jacob Colacci scored the winning goal with 30 seconds left in the game.  Cooper Cook was outstanding in net and recorded the shut-out.

The team worked hard and showed a lot of grit and determination the whole weekend. The team opened up the tournament Friday with a 2-1 loss to the Nepean Raiders.  Kianna Vanhorne-Birkhof played an excellent game to keep the team right in the game.  Friday afternoon saw the team battle the Newmarket Redmen to a 4-4 draw.

On Saturday, the team played an outstanding game to beat the host team, the Glanbrook Rangers, 3-1.  The victory secured a spot, and rematch, in the semi -finals against the Nepean Raiders.  After finishing tied 1-1 after regulation and overtime, the Petes were able to score twice in the shoot out to advance to the final against Dundas, where they defeated the Blues 1-0. Congratulations to the whole team on an excellent weekend and tournament.

It was great to see the team come together so early in the year and compete with all the teams in the tournament.
