Opening game of the Season
The FCI Windows Minor Peewee AA Peterborough Petes scored early and often, as they opened up the Lakeshore League regular season with a victory.



The team defeated the Oshawa Minor Generals 11-3 in Friday (Sept. 28)night action at the Kinsmen Civic Centre.

Emerson Taylor opened up the scoring for Peterborough early in the first frame. Dawson Corfe and Mike Hancock had assists. Two minutes later, Corfe put the Petes ahead 2-0, with Taylor picking up the assist. Early in the second period, the Petes' Owen Fitzgerald scored to make it3-0 Peterborough. Nolan Mason and Owen Leahy had assists. Oshawa would score two goals to make it a one-goal game, but Taylor scored his second of the evening late in the middle frame to give the Petes the 4-2 lead. Fitzgerald and Holden Rutherford had assists.The third period was all Peterborough as the Petes exploded with seven goals. First to score was Mason, assisted by Leahy and Fitzgerald. Then Griff Coupland scored two of his three goals on the night. Ethan Lacey and Travis Maxwell had assists on both goals. Leahy scored to make it 8-2 Peterborough. Fitzgerald and Mason picked up the assist.In the final minute, Coupland, Fitzgerald and Mason all scored, with Lacey, Leahy (2), Mason and Fitzgerald picking up assists. Carter Winter was solid in net for the first victory of the season.

Next up for Peterborough next Friday night when they travel to Clarington.
