Novice AA Try-outs
Players, Parents and Guardians:

On behalf of the Peterborough Hockey Association, I would like to welcome you to the selection process for the 2019-2020 Novice AA Peterborough Pete’s.

All players trying out for the Novice AA team must purchase and present at every tryout, a PHA tryout passport. The purchase of a passport is mandatory; if you need assistance with purchasing a passport please visit www.peterboroughhockey.com.  The passports can be found under the Tryouts tab.  With the purchase of a passport each player will be entitled to skate in at least three tryout sessions between the Novice AA or Novice A teams before being released to the Peterborough House League program. (the 3 guaranteed tryout skates may be in combination with the AA and A team)

All players must be roster compliant to play on the Novice AA Pete’s.  It is important that players/parents understand the PHA Residency Compliance/ Right of Choice: this can be found on our website www.peterboroughhockey.com under the Rep Program tab.

All tryouts will be held at the Norwood Community Centre at 88 Alma Street, Norwood Ontario. The Tryouts will begin on Thursday, April 25th at 5 pm.  Please arrive at least 45 minutes prior to each skate to allow sufficient time for sign in and for the players to get dressed.

During each tryout, players will be assessed by independent off-ice evaluators, each of whom have no direct connection to any of the players in this age group.  These assessments will be used as the basis for the determination of which players will be offered a position on the team. To date the remaining team support staff such as assistant coaches and managers have yet to be selected.  This process will begin at the conclusion of the last tryout.

As a reminder competitive hockey is a large commitment on many levels; including financial and time management.  I ask that players and parents understand what is required to fulfill their obligations to the team and ensure they are committed to the Novice AA program prior to tryouts.

Thank you for your interest in the Peterborough Novice AA Pete’s
