It's Good To Be Home
After last weekend in Ottawa, the Novice AA Under Armour Petes had an away game Saturday, before finally playing at home again today.

Yesterday, the Petes travelled East to Belleville to face off against the Bulls in their home barn. It was the coaches’ hope that the players would carry the aggression, speed and determination from the games in Ottawa, to the games back home in their own league. At puck drop though, the players struggled to find their legs. They were not playing to their full potential and needed some encouragement from the coaching staff to get them going. By the second half, the kids got back to their normal selves. They were flying on the ice; making hard passes, hard checks and finding the back of the net. At the end of 44 minutes, the Petes had won all games.

Today, the Petes were set to play Whitby at the Evinrude Centre…finally back at home in their own barn. The coaches were straight forward with the players; they needed a much better performance on the ice than the day before. They had to bring their speed, their skill, and they needed to play together as a team if they were going to stand a chance against the strong team from Whitby. Expectations were high heading into the game, and the players met and exceeded those expectations. They dug hard in the corners, battled with everything they had, drove to the net, and got countless rebound goals. This was the team that everyone had seen playing in Ottawa, and the hometown crowd couldn’t have cheered louder for them today. They left the ice having been victorious in 3 of the 4 games. There’s always the thrill of winning in another teams arena, but there’s nothing like winning in front of your own fans at home.

The Novice AA Under Armour Petes are back in action November 24 at home against Oshawa.

1, 2, 3…..Petes!!!
