The Novice AA Under Armour Petes were on a win streak going into
the game against their moms on Monday at the Evinrude Centre; and the mom’s game
plan was for that to come to an end.
The moms were ready; they had been training for this day since last season and were in peak physical condition…well some of them. There were a few healthy scratches for this game, and they had to AP a few of the players’ sisters to ice a team of 10.
It was a Xuereb vs Xuereb battle…. with mom and son taking their respective positions in opposite creases. The players went into this game thinking they’d have no problem winning, but that notion was quickly put to bed when the mom’s scored just seconds into the game. It was a back and forth battle. There was trash talk, there were goals, there 
were penalties, but most importantly there was a lot of fun.
When the final buzzer went, the score board read 8 for the moms and 7 for the Petes. Moms won!!!
The players feel that a re-match is needed, but for now the moms are going to relish in this victory.
The Petes continue with their regular season play this weekend, when they travel to Cobourg Saturday to face off against Northumberland, and have a rematch with Kingston Sunday.
