Trent Lakes Minor Peewee AA face of Vs. Jokerit, Finland
The Trent Lakes Plumbing Minor Peewee AA team took part in the Glenn Bellerby Memorial Tournament in Barrie over the weekend.  This tournament was host to many of the top teams in Ontario as well as two teams from Jokerit, Finland.
The Petes faced off Friday vs North Toronto and Barrie, two highly ranked teams who would be a great challenge for the Peterborough team heading into OMHA league playoffs in a week.  They were defeated 3-1 by North Toronto and 2-0 by the host, but proved to themselves that they could play with those top teams as both games were close and they battled right to the end.

Saturday morning the team got a once in a lifetime opportunity and faced off vs Jokerit, Finland and only hours before Team Canada was to play Finland at the world Junior championships.  The players were pumped and excited to have opponents from across the world and ready give them their best game.  After players and coaches exchanged mementos and a photo the teams got down to a gritty battle that saw both teams
score and seemed very evenly matched.
The final game Saturday saw the Trent Lakes sponsored team face off vs the Kitchener Jr. Rangers.  The Petes found themselves down early but battled back and with the goalie pulled was able tie the game with 2-2
final.
The team now looks to finish off the regular season on a high note after competing with such strong competitors. The Minor Peewee AA next game is Wednesday night when they visit Northumberland and will then host North Durham Saturday at the Kinsman at 7:30pm for the final game of the regular season.
