Game one! Monday Nov 18th @ 8pm Canlan Sports in Oshawa

Exciting times, as we start our official season on Monday Nov 18th at 8pm against Whitby. Canlan arena in Oshawa.
All those practises and development skates will pay off, I'm sure of it!

I want to thank the all the players and parents for their patience through the start of the season as the anticipation for our first game is almost over.

At last night's practise I announced our 2019/2020 Minor Bantam RS Captain and Assistant Captains. It was a tough choice as all potential candidates showed hard work and team work. True leadership along with tireless effort is special and should be recognized.

Please help me in congratulating John Black as our Captain, Xander Watton Dow and Nolan Bolton as our Assistant captains.
These roles do not come without responsibility. In this role they will continue their efforts of relentless hard work and team first attitude. In conjunction with the coach staff, they are responsible to lead the team in accountability. Although each player is responsible for their effort and their attitude each and every game. These new roles and the players chosen are to help push through the tough times and rally the team back to success.

Last evening I also spoke of some of my observations from last year:

As these are the elite players of the house league program we see them perform at a level the makes us all proud. In reverse I saw the boys struggled to find their groove when the level of competition increased. Understandable, but I want to drive home the point that this is still hockey and its supposed to be fun. I encouraged the boys to remember this and to play like I know they can. Forget about all the pressure of trying to win and be perfect. Play like you do the pond with your buddies, play like you do against your brother or sister. Go out and shine and have fun. Disregard the score board, play each shift like its the only thing that matters at that moment. Don't be afraid to take risks and always put the team first, the rest will take care of its self.

I am super proud of this group and I am really excited for Monday night, its been awhile coming!

Good luck boys,

Coach Todd
