It’s Beginning to Feel A Lot Like…. Hockey!!
Many thought this day would never come. Back to somewhat of a normal season. Hockey is finally back!
The excitement was contagious!! And the nerves were high!! The Peterborough U9A Petes were starting their season at home facing off against Whitby.
The players hit the ice to music and the sound of their fans.
Games at this age are half ice, informal and the score not recorded, however this was the first real game these players had experienced in their early hockey careers.
The game was intense on both sides of the ice. The players had to battle hard, learn their positions, talk to each other, but most importantly have fun.
Although the Petes didn’t find the back of the net as often as Whitby, their play showed the foundation of a great team. They passed well, skated hard to the bench, and played together. The goalies were strong and
maintained positivity through the multitude of shots they faced.
At the final buzzer, the players were all smiles, and as a parent, coach or volunteer, what more could you ask for?
It was a great start to the season.
The next game is October 29 where the Petes face off against North Durham at home.
