Game Results: Game vs Belleville Bulls
Last night, the Peterborough Mr. Sub U15 AE Petes played host to the undefeated 5-0 Belleville Bulls.  This was the first of eight games to be played versus the Bulls this season.

Listen to the Game Day Introduction Audio Track

The first period had the teams locked into a battle for puck control.  Both teams struggled getting the puck cleanly through the neutral zone because of the close checking demonstrated by the players.  The Petes would get a couple scoring chances in the period, however the Bulls not backing down from the challenge increased the game intensity and put the pressure on the Petes keeping then stuck in their own end for the latter half of the period.  The Bulls would open the scoring mid period and then score a couple later in the period.  The Petes would get outshot in the 1st period and end up trailing the Bulls 3-0 going into the second period.

The second period would have the teams settle into the flow of the game and trade chances to score.  Both team’s goalies played outstanding in the period.  Even though the momentum of the game was starting to shift in favour of the Petes, Adam M. was called upon to make some outstanding saves to keep the game at 3-0 going into the 3rd period.

In the third period, a motivated Petes team hit the ice.  The momentum of the game was clearly on the Petes side as they started to dominate the play causing the Bulls to take multiple penalties in the period.  The Bulls would weather the storm though, kill off the penalties, and take advantage of the couple of opportunities they had in the period and score 2 more goals.  The score was now 5-0 for the Bulls.  The Petes however didn’t give up and were motivated to score a goal.  After outworking the Bulls and winning multiple battles for the puck, the Petes would be rewarded for their efforts and get their first and only goal of the night ruining the shutout bid by the Bulls goalie.

The final score would be 5-1 loss to the Belleville Bulls.

Goal scored by: James C.

The Petes next game is against the Oshawa Generals on Saturday, November 20th @ 5:00 PM in Douro.
