Game Results: Game @ Whitby Wildcats
Last night the Peterborough Mr. Sub U15 AE Petes played their fourth scheduled playoff game.  The Petes were set to play against the Whitby Wildcats in their second meeting during the playoffs.  The Petes were successful in their first meeting against the Wildcats winning the game 8-3 and hoped to repeat that outcome.

The first period was filled with excitement and anticipation.  The Petes riding the high from their previous nights victory over the Oshawa Generals came out determined to take control of the game early.  The Petes tested the Wildcats goalie early and often.  The Petes were rewarded by their determination and opened the scoring in the game to take a 1-0 lead.  The Wildcats though would quickly respond with a goal of their own to tie the game.  The score at the end of the period was 1-1.

In the second period both the Petes and the Wildcats were locked in a defensive battle and scoring chances were limited for both teams.  However, with less than three minutes left in the period the Wildcats took the lead 2-1.  Which would be the score at the end of the second period.

After the intermission the Petes were ready to even up the score and would do so 25 seconds into the period tying the game at 2-2.  How ever it was short lived as the Wildcats were able to score three goals within the following four minutes of play to retake and then extend their lead to 5-2.  The petes in another deperate act to make a comeback dug deep and scored a goal to close the gap and make the score 5-3.  Then with the goalie pulled the Petes scored a goal with the extra attacker on the ice.  The score was now 5-4 with only fourteen seconds left in the game.  With time running out and the Petes needing to get the puck deep into he Wildcats end quickly a lost faceoff would be the final nail in the coffin as the Wildcats would seal the deal by scoring an empty net goal.  The final score of the game was 6-4 in favour of the Whitby Wildcats.

Goals scored by: James C., Will M., Hayven W.

Assists by: DJ C., Hayven W., Jacob G., Caeden K., Ari T.

The Petes will now travel to St. Catharines to compete in the Warriors Tournament on March 18-20, 2022. The Petes will face the Loyalist Jets, Ingersol Express, Halton Hills Thunder and the West Grey Warriors.

The Petes next playoff game is versus the Belleville Bulls on Thursday, March 24th @ 8:45 PM in Belleville at the Quinte Sport & Wellness Centre.
