Game Results: Game vs Belleville Jr. Bulls
Last night the Petes and the Belleville Bulls meet for the last time this season.  The Petes were looking to rebound from a disappointing effort versus the Ajax-Pickering Raiders.  The Bulls were looking to rebound from a negative performance at the previous weekend Silver Stick Tournament.

The Bulls quickly sent a message to Petes that they had showed up to play as they dominated from the opening faceoff.  The Bulls were relentless with their pressure and pursuit of the puck.  The Bulls showed why they are a top ranked team in the division.  The Petes on this night couldn’t compete at the Bulls level and the score at the end of the first period was 6-0 in favour of the Bulls.  The Bulls carried momentum into the second period and continued to dominate play.  The Bulls scored seven more times in the period to increase their lead to 13-0.  The Petes though continued to battle even though almost down by two touchdowns.  The Petes then before the end of the second period scored to break the shutout and the score at the end of the second period was 13-1 for the Bulls.

In net for the Petes to this point was Adam M. who was called upon to stop 61 shots.  Adam M. did an outstanding job in net and was recognized for his efforts and rewarded by given the third period off.  Keegan D. our U15 BB affiliate goalie was called upon to finish the game.

The third period was more of the same.  On this night the Petes had no answer for the Bulls.  The Bulls were able to do whatever they wanted, whenever they wanted, with the puck.  The Bulls would continue to deposit pucks into the net.  The final score of the game was 20-1 in favour.  Keegan D. did a great job in net in the third period as he was called upon to stop 39 shots.

Overall, the Petes goalies combined to make 80 saves as they were called upon to stop 100 shots in the game.  It was definitely a positive performance by the Petes goalies in the midst of the chaos.  Well done Adam and Keegan.  Your hard work and effort did not go unnoticed!

The other highlight of the night was a comment made by the Bulls head coach following the game.  The Bulls coach was impressed by our team’s discipline and the great sportsmanship showed in the loss.  I too am proud of our team for showing great restraint and controlling emotions in such a difficult game to play and finish.

The Petes next game is against the top ranked Quinte West Hawks on Sunday, December 4th @ 3:15 PM in Quinte.

Goals: Jacob G.

Assists:  Will M.
