ServiceMaster Restore Minor Atom A Petes Post Another Win
On Sunday (Oct. 2), the minor atom A Petes defeated the Oshawa Generals 3-2 in Oshawa. Vernie O'Brien opened the scoring in the first period. Josh Watson had the lone assist. Lyndon Jarbeau put Peterborough ahead 2-0 with a shorthanded goal early in the second period. Vernie O'Brien had the assist. Oshawa stormed back, scoring in the second to make it a 2-1 game. Peterborough ran into penalty trouble in the second period, at one point finding themselves down two players and Oshawa earning a penalty shot.
However, goaltender Quinton Ross made a huge save on the penalty shot and the Petes killed off Oshawa's two-man advantage to keep the score 2-1 heading into the third period. About midway through the third frame, Oshawa tied the game 2-2. However, the Petes' Ethan Lacey scored the game winner with just over three minutes remaining. Andrew Wasson had the assist.
