Service Master Restore Atom AE Petes Pick up Pair of Wins and Extend Streak to 11 Games
The Service Master Restore Atom AE Petes continue to roll after picking up a pair of wins over the weekend.

The Petes hosted the Northumberland Nighthawks for a Thursday night (Nov. 2) tilt that would end up in a decisive 6-1 win.  The Petes controlled play from the opening faceoff, including a Sam Dickey goal on the first shift of the game.

The Nighthawks would hold the Petes at bay for the remainder of the first, but the Petes were able to pull away in the second as Tobey Skopelianos lit the lamp for a pair of goals, with Archer Stalteri adding a marker late in the period.

The third period saw the Petes put things out reach on goals by James Chandra and Dickey, but the ever elusive shutout slipped through Bradley Montgomery’s fingers in the closing minute of the game as the Nighthawks capitalized on a rare defensive faux pas from the Petes.

Dickey rounded out his five point night with a trio of assists, while other assists went to Skopelianos (2), Stalteri, Cole Scanlan and Caeden Kent.

The Petes would then extend their win streak to 11 games when they travelled to Belleville on Sunday night (Nov. 5) and walked out with an 8-4 victory.

Although the Petes were able to open up an early lead on first period goals from Josh Watson and Scanlan, the Bulls weren’t going away gently and managed to tie things up early in the second period.  With the score knotted at 2, the Petes rallied and put the game out reach by burying 5 second period goals off the sticks of Riley Hagerman (2), Joe Donoghue, Stalteri and Dickey. The Petes scoring was rounded out in the third when Jayden Howson buried a point shot and sealed the win.

Assists during the game went to Hagerman (2), Skopelianos (2), Donoghue (2), Watson, Kent and Jordan Garfat, while Brody Carrick was in net for the win.

With the pair of wins the Petes have improved their overall record to 19-3-2 on the season and look to keep the win streak alive this weekend with games against Oshawa, Ajax and Quinte West.

The Petes would like to extend a thank you to their sponsor of the week – CPO Renovations.
