Update
to previously posted call to help for Jordie Preston a PHA U16 Player that was
recently diagnosed with T cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
Over the past week, Jordie was back in hospital
for a brief stay getting some more test done to help further diagnose his
leukemia. He is back out but staying close by. He continues his routine of
chemo and other meds, and with an increase in the anti-nausea meds, the family
is hopeful he may be able to gain back some of the weight he’s lost since he
arrived.
He is still going strong and was able to walk to and from his treatments
this week.
The Family is so grateful for all of the
messages of encouragement, love and prayer. Monica commented that they make a
huge difference in this overwhelming process especially when worry and fear try
to dominate their thoughts.
The PHA and PGHA family are so grateful for the support for the
Preston’s and as of today 750 Jersey patches have made their way out into the
community, making their way onto players jerseys and raising funds for the
Preston Family. Please contact your coach, division convener or Director if you
would like some Jersey patches.
Our plaque of support is quickly filling with words of hope and
inspiration for Jordi and will be at the Evinrude form Monday Nov 30 to Dec 7.
If you are in the arena during that time please feel free to send Jordi a
message of Hope.
Lastly, would like to share with you some truly inspiring messages sent
to Jordi this afternoon from 4 great young men who without hesitation took time
out of their Sunday morning to send Jordi messages of hope, support and
encouragement.
Taylor Hall, Max Domi, Josh Anderson and Connor McDavid we truly appreciate what you did for
Jordie.
