On February 7, 2023, the PHA Rep Executive
held a discussion with respect to the continuation of the 2008 birth year BB
team.
Based on the information available to the Rep Executive at that time, a vote was held, and a decision was made to terminate the 2008 birth year BB team. Since that time, there has been much feedback received from the PHA membership with respect to this decision.
On March 1, 2023, the PHA Rep Executive held an updated electronic vote with respect to the continuation of this team. The outcome of the vote was in favour of attempting to roster a U16BB team for the 2023-24 season.
As a result, PHA will open up coaching applications with respect to this team. Prospective coaching applicants need to familiarize themselves with the OMHA requirements prior to applying. Coaching applications will be accepted up to & including Wednesday March 8, 2023. In the event that there are no applicants by that time, the team will fold. In the event that a coach-candidate meets the criteria set out by PHA & OMHA, PHA will hold tryouts for the 2023-23 U16BB team in an attempt to roster a team.
