Recently, all centers have seen a major decline in availability from all officials. They are reluctant towork the games and be exposed to the abuse. Many are requesting a break and are blocking theirschedule or unwilling to work games because of the actions of players, parents and coaches. We fully support our officials and without them the tournament and games would not be able to operate.
The referees have been instructed from Hockey Canada for ZERO tolerance policy on verbal abuse!Adults need to communicate professionally and are encouraged to ask questions and have politeconversations with our officials even if they don't agree with the call.
It starts from the top and players mimic their leaders. We hold you accountable for the actions of yourteam, this includes coaches, players and parents.
This goes for tournament convenors as well. We have seen a recent influx of abuse coming fromcoaches and parents. These are the regular people and the backbone to make these tournamentsrun smoothly.
Bench Staff are the only ones that can communicate to tournament convenors.
Dressing rooms will be inspected prior to and at the completion of each game, any damage could result in a $200 Cash Bond prior to a team receiving a room for subsequent games.Damage claims will be forwarded to the association, and they will be responsible for payment.
Teams may be ejected from the tournament if they are found to be responsible for damage to tournament facilities (including host hotels)
The tournament committee reserves the right to change or alter tournament rules at any time, without prior notice, to act in the best interest of the tournament.
