On Tuesday, Dec. 3, the players from the Novice A Petes got together at
the team’s sponsor, White’s Wearparts Ltd. in Peterborough. Adults and kids gathered in the big open warehouse
to celebrate the holidays and have some fun!

The night started out with an exciting drill where the players got to take shots on Frosty, an oversized Christmas decoration playing goalie that night. The kids were loving it! After the drill, players and parents were invited to have some dinner and snacks. A big shout out to the White Family who supplied enough pizza and juice boxes to fuel a small army…or the Novice A Petes. As the team and kids ate, everyone talked and passed the time. Many questions were overheard by party members like, “how will the team do on full ice?”, “who will be our captain?” and “who the f#$% would put peas in a salad?”
The Petes head coach, Jarrett, had organized a gift exchange between players. After dinner, every player received a gift and had something nice said about them from their Secret Santa. It was heartwarming to see the kids present their gifts and hear their words – ones they had come up with all on their own!
In the end, parents and kids left full and happy. A great way to start the holiday season and another experience the kids had to get to know each other outside of the rink!
