U12A Petes Win Gene Harrington Tournament!
The U12A Peterborough Petes bring home gold as champions of the 52nd Gene Harrington Shootout Classic in Buffalo, New York.

The Petes started strong and went undefeated in round-robin play.  The semi-final game was tightly contested with the Petes down 1-0 until a rocket from the point found the back of the net with less than 3 minutes to play.  The team was buzzing after the tying goal and buried a rebound to go up 2-1 in the final minute of the game and then added an empty-netter for a 3-1 victory.  The championship game was also a nail-biter, with the Petes deadlocked in a 1-1 tie late in the 3rd period.  With less than 2 minutes to play, the Petes got the championship winning goal on a net front scramble.

Each player contributed to the team's success by showing amazing compete, determination and team work throughout the weekend.

Congratulations to the players, coaches and families who supported the team throughout the tournament!

Go Petes Go!
