with the level of talent in this age group and am very excited for the upcoming

I know I have been a bit of an enigma during the AA tryouts, but I assure you it was only due to not wanting to break any OMHA rules. I hope to meet all of you on Monday while I hand out pinnies in the lobby. Just briefly, I am a PhD candidate in the Huber lab (https://www.huberlab.ca/) at Trent University where I study genetics and cell biology. I am a non-parent volunteer and have been with the PHA for 4 years as a trainer and assistant coach. One of my biggest drives is to inspire student athletes to achieve success in both the rink and classroom. To this end, I offer free science and math tutoring to all my players during the season. If you have any questions or concerns at all, please reach out. I can provide my phone number in person if desired.
Early Signings
I will be emailing out early signing offers to many players at 12:01am Sunday night. Please provide a response by Monday evening the latest so I can plan accordingly. The offer will stand until the start of the first tryout where you will sign your commitment. Players who are asked to sign early will not dress for the first tryout.
Tryout Structure
Tryout 1 on May 5
- Players who are signed will not dress
- Players and goalies with last names beginning with A-L will be on the ice from 8:00pm-8:50pm.
- Remaining (M-Z) players and goalies will be on the ice from 9:00-9:50pm.
- These will be normal practice style ice times with a focus on compete drills and short ice scrimmage.
Tryout 2 on May 6
- Full ice inter-squad scrimmage with refs
The remaining tryouts are home and away scrimmages with other teams
