Peterborough,
ON – The U11AA Peterborough Petes are proud to announce their victory as
Lakeshore League Champions, securing the title on March 18, 2026 in Whitby,
following an outstanding season defined by teamwork, determination, and
resilience.
Led
by Head Coach Bobby Christie, the Petes demonstrated exceptional skill and
composure throughout the championship series against the Whitby Wildcats. Their
commitment to hard work and their “team-first” mentality proved to be the
difference-maker, as they rose to the occasion when it mattered most.
“This
group has shown incredible growth all season,” said Coach Christie. “Their
dedication to each other, their work ethic, and their love for the game made
this championship possible. I couldn’t be prouder of this team.”
The
Petes battled through a competitive Lakeshore League, overcoming strong
opponents and high-pressure moments to earn the championship title. Their
success reflects not only their on-ice performance but also the unwavering
support from families, volunteers, fans and the broader Peterborough hockey
community.
This
championship marks a significant achievement for the young athletes and
highlights the strength of minor hockey development in Peterborough.
The
organization extends its congratulations to the players, coaching staff, and
supporters who contributed to this memorable season.
The
Petes are set to compete in the Red Hat OMHA Championship tournament in Whitby,
ON from March 27-29, 2026.
