Peterborough Welding Services Peewee A Petes Pick up a Win and a Tie
After a tough opening week, where the Peterborough Welding Services Peewee A Petes lost a pair of home and home games against a formidable Quinte West team, the Petes travelled to Ajax and notched their first win with a decisive 6-0 victory over the Knights.

Scoring for the Petes were Lucas Tataryn with a pair of goals, Carter Christensen, Tobey Skopelianos, Michael Hancock and Cade Dunford.  Assists went to Tye Hill (2), Jack Pacey (2), Rylan Scott, Vernie O’Brien, Travis Maxwell, Jordan Garfat and Skopelianos. Brody Carrick was in net to pick up the win and shutout for the Petes.

The Petes finished up a strong week of hockey with a Sunday night home game against the North Durham Warriors. The Petes came out strong and were pushing the play from the opening faceoff until finally being rewarded with a mid-period goal from Charlie Mundell. North Durham would find some life with a second period power play goal, but the Petes regain the lead when Tye Hill scored a power play goal on the opening shift of the third period. Unfortunately the win slipped away from the Petes when the Warriors tied things up midway through the final period to round out the scoring.  Assists during the game went to Scott and Mundell.

Next up for the Petes is a home game against Clarington – September 29, 7:15 @ the Evinrude.

The Petes would like to extend a thank you to Ricart Promotions and Recognition for their sponsorship this season.
