U13AE's Road to the OMHA's
U13AE PHA Petes ended the season in third place and were ready to get the Playoffs started.  In the first Round we played 2nd place Northumberland, 5th Place Clarington and 7th place Ajax.

The team Started by playing Clarington on the Saturday, we knew we would be in for a battle because the last two times we played them we lost.  The Petes came out flying and were up 3-1 with 2 mins left in the third.  Clarington Pulled their goalie and scored with 45secs left to make it 3-2.  Petes battled hard and held on for the win.
Next it was on to Sunday in Northumberland which we had only beat once all season but in their barn, so that gave us a leg up.  Once again the boys came out flying but this time never looked back.  We won 4-1.
With both big games behind us we traveled to Ajax on the Thursday night, but not with a full squad.  Covid had hit 4 on our team, so we called up our only AP Wes Carr who helped us out greatly.   The first period was a good battle game ending with a tie 1-1.  In the second the boys were ready to roll and ended that period with a 7-1 lead.  In the third our team was very sportman like and made three or four passes before passing back to the defense to shoot.  Score ended 8-1, and on to the next round as the first place team.
The second round the Petes were going to face first place Whitby, fourth place Belleville, and fifth place Clarington.

The Second Round started for the U13AE Petes wednesday night against the undefeated Whitby Wildcats.  Our boys had not played them since the beginning of the season and when we did play them we struggled.  Well Last night in game 1 of the second round we were ready to play and ready to show Whitby just how good we are.
Petes took the lead 1-0 on a power play goal and that is how the first ended Petes in the lead.  On to the second and within the first 30 sec Whitby scored to tie it up.  The boys kept working and putting pressure on Whitby  and it paid off Petes score to make it 2-1.   Just over a minute later we scored again to make it 3-1, Whitby players and coaches stunned, crowd silenced.  Petes on their way to victory and added an insurance goal in the third to make it 4-1.  The boys kept the pressure on and not once gave Whitby the chance to come back.
Saturday against Clarington proved to be another hard battle.  Petes went up 2-0 in the second, but Clarington was not going to go down with out a fight.  they got two quick goals to make it a 2-2 game going into the third. The Petes came out flying in the third, but just could not put it in the net until 5 mins left.  We kept the push on and came out with the 3-2 win  on to Sunday a must win to clinch the lakeshore title
Last game of round two, a must win to be able to clinch first and move on to OMHA's. We came out flying and all over Belleville spending most the the first in their end.  0-0 going into the second Petes hit the board first in the first min of the second.  Quickly after Belleville scored two making it 2-1.  We kept working hard and playing as a team, and it paid off with 3 mins left in the third we made it 2-2.  the game stayed that way and we had to go into overtime.  Petes wanted it bad and it showed as we were in Belleville end right from the beginning and shooting the puck and driving to the net.  a lot of close calls, but the puck finally went in and Petes win 3-2.

LAKESHORE CHAMPS OFF TO THE OMHA'S

The coaches and bench staff are all very proud of the boys for all their hard work and playing as a team.  Your Drive and determination has allowed you all to get where we are at, but our job is not done.  We have one more title to bring home
