The Minor Bantam A Peterborough Petes Capture The Peter Mancuso November Challenge Hockey Tournament
The Minor Bantam A Peterborough Petes captured the Peter Mancuso November Challenge Hockey Tournament in Niagara Falls this past weekend, with a thrilling shootout victory over the Woolwich Wildcats.

With the game tied 3-3 after regulation and overtime, Jake Stinson, Nick Barrett, and Malachi Malott scored in the shootout, while goalie Cooper Cook stopped all the shots he faced.  The team worked hard and showed a lot of grit and determination the whole weekend.

The team opened up the tournament Friday with a 3-0 victory over the Oshawa Generals. Cook had the shutout.  Friday afternoon saw the team beat the Quinte West Hawks by a score of 5-3.  Geordy Addison was outstanding in net, which saw the Petes have to kill off a 6 on 4 powerplay in the last 2 minutes of the game.  On Saturday, the team played an outstanding game, but came up a little short with a 4-3 loss to the Clarington Toros.

The Petes finished  in 2nd place in the round robin, which set them up for a semi final game against the Burlington Eagles.  The team dominated the game from start to finish and came away with a 3-1 victory to send them to the finals against the Wildcats.

Congratulations to the whole team on an excellent weekend and tournament.
