This past Sunday, the Peterborough U9A Petes faced
off against Oshawa for the first time this season at the Evinrude Centre in
Peterborough.
At puck drop, the Petes took off. They wanted to build off their recent success against
North Durham. This game was as exciting to watch, as it was for the kids to play. The players brought their A game – they demonstrated their speed and stamina by maintaining such a high level of play throughout the entire game. There were battles at both ends of the ice; they went into the corners hard, they played 1 on 1 hockey. Goals were harder to come by these games - all 4 goalies made incredible saves, and any goals scored were the result of determination and teamwork.
There was no individualism in this game. The players dug deep and worked together towards one common goal – winning the game. And that is exactly what they did!! The Petes came out on top, winning more periods than North Durham.
One very incredible accomplishment for one of the Petes was one of their goalies got his very first shutout in his very first year as a goalie. Congrats Vincent Poirier!!
They hit the ice again Sunday vs the 2nd Oshawa U9 team.
