Looking Good, Feeling Good & Playing Even Better
They finally arrived. The Peterborough Tyke 47s had their jerseys!
When the players walked though the dressing room door, the excitement could not be contained - now they looked like a team and not a team that North Durham would want to face today!

The Tyke 47s took to the ice at the Evinrude this afternoon to face off against North Durham for the second time this season, the first was during their home opener. North Durham was ready this time. They knew the 47's were fast, disciplined, and played positional hockey. But they didn't know the amount of pride they would carry onto the ice being able to wear the jersey that represented who they are - the youngest select team representing the City of Peterborough. They were pumped!!

The 47's stepped onto the ice and the excitement could be felt throughout the building. These kids were ready!!
At puck drop, the 47s took off. Anyone watching could see that North Durham's players were bigger, but that did not scare the 47's. There were battles  at both ends of the ice; they went into the corners hard, they played 1 on 1 hockey. Goals were harder to come by this time - all 4 goalies made incredible saves, and any goals scored were the result of determination and teamwork.

In the end, the 47's came out on top, winning more periods than North Durham. It was a great challenge, one that will be reflected on and learned from in practice. And as everyone knows, the Peterborough Tyke 47's practice hard.

The hardest working warrior of the game was Phoenix Kekki.

The 47's are back in action December 1 in Ajax.
