February Keeps Getting Better
February has been a great month for the Tyke 47’s – their development, team bonding, and success as a team. They showcased how great it’s been this past Saturday, when they faced off against Whitby; in a rematch from the Tyke Showdown the weekend prior.

Finding their legs was not an issue in this game; the hour and a half practice the evening before made sure of that. The 47’s were fast, faster than Whitby. They were first on the puck more, and when they weren’t, they battled hard to get it back.

The pregame talk highlighted the importance of sportsmanship and readiness – this game no player was to do a celly on the ice. Instead, each player had the opportunity to showcase their celly in JVincent.jpgthe dressing room in front of their friends and teammates. It was made very clear that the focus this game must not be on the celebration, but rather on how quickly players could regroup and be ready for Whitby to come back down the ice and try to even the score.

And they were ready. When the 47’s were able to get that small blue puck past Whitby’s tenders, they quickly backed up from the net, turned around, and were ready for Whitby to do their best to get past them. This proved much harder for Whitby, and the 47’s once again came out victorious.

Hardest working warrior of the game was Jaxon Vincent.

The players are very excited to be playing their moms this Saturday in a match that will prove to be the game of the year!
