Ending 2018 On A High Note
The Peterborough 47’s headed into Pickering for their last regular season game of 2018 on a school night with Christmas less than a week away.

The players were in a tough spot – they had the pressure of keeping an undefeated season for the 2018 year, as well as having difficulty maintaining their focus with the holiday season fast approaching.

The coaches pulled out all the stops. The pregame talk was on point. The starting line ups were announced in the dressing room to the tune of Hells Bells. Throughout the entire arena the players could be heard chanting “Go 47s Go!” They were prepared to keep their regular season win streak alive.

The game plan was clear:

Play the system.

Be faster and stronger.

Be hard on the puck.

Get the rebound goals.

Be great today!!!

The Peterborough 47’s took to the ice ready to take over the Don Beer Arena.

They played the system exactly as they had been taught, which helped them jump out to an early lead on both sides of the ice. The 47’s were all over Pickering like Nathan and Cashel on a loose puck in crease.

Rather than running up the score, the 47’s worked on other areas of their game – passing, pressuring the puck, positional play.

It was a great way for the 47’s to end 2018. They hope to carry this momentum into Niagara Falls after Christmas.

The coaching staff couldn’t be more proud of these 7 year olds, and can’t wait to see what the back end of the season has in store for them.
