Petes Reach Championship Day in Ottawa Senators Novice Holiday Classic
Over the weekend the Novice AA
Petes took their skates to Ottawa. Taking part in the 13th Annual Ottawa
Senators Novice Holiday Classic.
Over the 3 days, the 16-team division tournament had teams from 4 different
Hockey loops take part, from Quebec across Ontario. The Petes got through
the round robin with 3 wins over Mississippi, Stitsville and Pembroke,
outscoring opponents 12-2 in play, with great goaltending, shut down defensive
play and super offensive puck movement.
Finishing 2nd in the round robin they took to the ice on Championship Day vs. Downsview Beavers. Downsview proved to be the better team on Sunday morning beating Petes and making it through to the finals.

Congratulations to Zachary Kinchen tied for 1st overall for points in the tournament with (8 points) along with Kyler Evoy (6 Points), Jude Element (4 points), Tucker O’Rourke (3 points), Russ Jones (2 points), and Kaden Nobes (1 point).
Over 4 tournaments this season the boys have made it through to all championship days: winners in one and runners up in another.
Before heading into tournement play over the weekend, the Petes handed North Durham their first loss of the season closing in on 1st place in the Lakeshore Hockey League.
Now 31-7-3 on the season, this Saturday taking on Pickering to try and get within 1 point on first Place in the Lakeshore Hockey League, with 5 games remaining in the regular season.
