Game Results: Game vs Oshawa Minor Generals
Tonight in Douro, the Peterborough Mr. Sub U15 AE Petes met up once again with the Oshawa Minor Generals for game two of their back-to-back series.  To date neither team has been able to win on their home ice and the Petes were determined to change that outcome.  With the addition of four Affiliated Players the Petes had a full roster for the first time this season.

The first period was close checking with both teams getting quality scoring chances.  As in the previous game the Generals would open the scoring midway through the period.  Followed by a powerplay goal, then another goal to take a 3-0 lead with under three minutes to play in the first period.  Solid goaltending by Carter K. would prove to be a turning point in the game as the Petes would begin to  put forth a great effort in the remainder of the period and scored their first goal of the night with a great wrist shot into the top corner of the net.  The first period would end with the Generals leading 3-1.

The Petes would carry that momentum into the second period and continue to apply the pressure by keeping the play in the Generals end for most of the period.  After having a bunch of scoring opportunities, the Petes put the puck in the net making the score 3-2.

The third period started out with both teams again trading chances.  The Generals however would get lucky and take a two goal lead off of a shot from the point that had eyes and found its way into the Petes net.  This did not deter the Petes.  They answered back right away with a goal of their own to shrink the lead to one goal again 4-3.  Similar to the previous games the Petes were relentless in their pursuit of the puck which resulted in the Generals getting into penalty problems, and three minutes later  scored again to tie the game up at 4-4.   With momentum on the Petes side they continued to dominate the period and with three minutes remaining scored a powerplay goal to take their first lead in the game.  The Generals in an effort to tie the game pulled their goalie only to see the Petes score an empty net goal from about 150 feet away from the net.  The final result of the game would be a 6-4 victory for the hometown Petes who with this win managed to break the curse of neither team being able to win on their home ice.

Way to go Petes!
