ServiceMaster Restore Minor Atom A Petes Capture Silver in Pittsburgh
The ServiceMaster Restore Minor Atom A Peterborough Petes won silver at the Pittsburgh Veterans Cup from Nov. 4 to 6. Peterborough opened the tournament with a dominant 5-1 win over the Baltimore Stars. Scoring for the Petes were Cooper Lawson, Lucas Tataryn (2), Ethan Lacey, and Drew Stabler. Assists went to Vernie O'Brien (2), Lyndon Jarbeau and Lacey.Peterborough dropped their second game of the tournament to the Columbus Blue Jackets by a score of 1-0. Peterborough outplayed the Blue Jackets throughout the game, but were unable to capitalize on their opportunities. Columbus scored the game winner with just over four minutes remaining in the game. In their final round-robin matchup, the Petes and the host Pittsburgh Predators played to a 1-1 tie. 

In a tight-checking game, Peterborough gained the lead in the second when DJ Crough scored unassisted. Pittsburgh tied it up late in the third and the two teams skated to a 1-1 draw. Peterborough netminder Carter Winter had a fantastic game in goal.In the semi-finals, the Petes faced off against the Tecumseh Shoreline Eagles. The two Ontario teams found themselves tied 1-1 after the first period. Scoring Peterborough's goal was Andrew Wasson, with Cade Dunford picking up the assist. The two teams were then tied 2-2 after the second period. Scoring for Peterborough was Josh Watson, with Sam Dickey and Lucas Tataryn picking up assists. After a scoreless third period, the two clubs headed to overtime. Peterborough's Cooper Lawson scored 30 seconds into overtime for the win. Peterborough's Quinton Ross had a great game in net. The championship game featured a rematch against the Pittsburgh Predators. Pittsburgh jumped ahead 1-0 with a late first-period goal, but Peterborough tied it up early in the second period when Ethan Lacey scored. Lucas Tataryn had the assist. However, Pittsburgh scored three goals within a few minutes late in the second period to take a 4-1 lead into the third period. Pittsburgh added two more goals in the third to pick up the 6-1 win.
