Holiday Ford and RBC Dominion Securities Minor Atom A Petes end weekend on a high
The Minor Atom A Petes had a 2 game homestand this past weekend. On Saturday the Petes faced a strong Whitby Blue Team. The Petes were not able to find their groove and fell 9-3 to the visiting team. Peterborough goals by Aedan Temple (2) and Colby Kekki. Assists by Kekki, Tristan Boucher, and Blayden Davis. On Sunday, the Clarington Toros came into town to face a re-grouped and focused Petes team.

The first period was very even as both teams battled. Clarington was able to score a goal late in the period to take the lead. In the second period, the Petes and Toros exchanged goals to end the period 2-1 for Clarington. In the third, a break out pass by Jack House to Casey Richardson who then fired a tape to tape cross ice pass; set up Ian Neck for the game tying goal. This momentum carried the Petes to score 2 more times taking the win 4-2. Goals by Temple, Ian Neck (2), and Calvin Hogan along with assists from Kekki, Richardson, Max Bidgood, Kaylynn Fisher, and Kaleb Jamieson as well as strong goaltending by Nate Sorichetti helped solidify this win. Next action for the Petes is the Silver Stick Qualifier Tournament in Northumberland this weekend. GO PETES GO!
