Over the past week, three Bantam A teams in the Lakeshore League have
been battling it out for top spot. As of
Sunday night, the NDB Firm and Associates Major Bantam A
Petes took the lead after tying the Ajax Knights 2-2 on Saturday,
October 27, 2018, at the Kinsmen Civic Centre and defeating the Quinte West
Hawks 4-2 on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at the Evinrude Centre.
In Saturday’s game, the Ajax Knights took the lead midway through the first period but Pete’s Cole Lester quickly tied it up by scoring an unassisted goal. The Ajax team once again went ahead 2-1 in the second period but with less than four minutes left in the period Chris Girardi scored for the Petes assisted by Kaiden Bletsoe and Cole Lester. Ryder Hadwyn played a strong game in net.
On Sunday, October 28, 2018 the team went up against Quinte West at the Evinrude Centre and defeated the Hawks 4-2. Nathan Burke, Liam Vollans, Cole Lester, and Chris Girardi scored for the Petes with assists to Lester, Girardi and Isaiah Scott.
Next action for the NDB Firm and Associates Major Bantam A Petes is against the Whitby Wildcats Blue on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at 8:00 pm at the Kinsmen Centre.
