Circul-Air Corp Atom A Petes Off to a Flying Start
The Circul-Air Corp Atom A Petes kicked off their 2017-2018 season facing the Kingston Canadians with a convincing 10-0 win at the Peterborough Memorial Centre on Saturday afternoon. The Petes got off to a strong start with Vernie O'Brien scoring two goals to put the Petes out front 2-0 at the end of the first.




The Petes continued to dominate the last two periods scoring eight goals in the final two frames. Leading the way with a hat trick was Tristan Lehmann, with singles going to Jagger Thompson, Drew Stabler, Cade Dunford, Sawyer Spencley, and Zander Clark. Carter Winter posted his first shutout of the season.

On Sunday the Petes traveled down the 115 to take on the Pickering Panthers. Peterborough was slow out of the gate, falling behind 2-0 after the first period. The Petes regrouped during th first intermission, and came out flying in the second. The strong fore-checking of both Owen Leahy and Zander Clark led to the Petes first goal scored by Andrew Wasson. Peterborough tied the game up on a beautiful backhand pass from DJ Crough to Griffith Coupland, scoring his first of the season to knot the game up at 2-2.

During the third period, the Petes took over the game scoring five unanswered goals. Andrew Wasson riffled his second of the game, followed by singles to Jagger Thompson, Zander Clark, Sawyer Spencley, and a laser shot by Carter Christensen.

The Circul-Air Corp Atom A Petes travel to Whitby on Tuesday night looking for a win to secure a share of first place.
