Service Master Restore Atom AE Petes Extend Win Streak to 9 Games
The Service Master Restore Atom AE Petes extended their winning streak to 9 games when they picked up 3 wins over the weekend.

The Petes hosted the Whitby Wildcats for a Thursday night (Oct. 26) matchup at the Kinsmen. The Petes opened the scoring late in the first on a goal from Cole Scanlan, but saw the Wildcats even things up in the opening minutes of the second. Ever resilient during this winning streak, the Petes responded less than a minute later when Scanlan netted his second for the eventual game winner.  Sam Dickey rounded out the Petes scoring late in the second and the third period went scoreless as the Petes went on to win 3-1.

Assists during the game went to Caeden Kent, Jayden Howson, Olivia Mercer, James Chandra, Riley Hagerman and Adam Revak. Brody Carrick picked up the win in net for the Petes.

On Saturday (Oct. 28) the Petes welcomed the unbeaten Clarington Toros for a battle of the division leaders. The Petes came into this game determined to hand the Toros their first loss of the season and the play for the first two periods was decidedly in their favour as they opened up a 4-1 lead on goals by Scanlan, Howson and Archer Stalteri (2).  The third period showed the Toros’ weren’t going down easy as they shortened the bench and tried to fight their way back into the game – barely coming up short as the Petes held on for a 4-3 win.

Assists during this game went to Hagerman, Mercer, Dickey, Chandra, Tobey Skopelianos, Joey Donoghue and Josh Watson. Bradley Montgomery was in net to pick up the win for the Petes.

Sunday afternoon (Oct. 29) saw the Petes travel to Uxbridge for a game against the North Durham Warriors. The Petes busy schedule over the past week (including 9 games in 9 days) appeared to have caught up with them and they looked a little sluggish throughout the game, but their determination and will power was enough to overcome the tiredness and propel them to a 3-1 victory.  Dickey, Stalteri and Donoghue scored the Petes goals, while helpers came from Howson, Skopelianos, Hagerman and Jack Pacey. Brody Carrick was strong in net, especially in the dying minutes as the Warriors pushed hard to get back into the game.

With the trio of wins, the Petes have improved their season record to 17-3-2 and look to extend their 9 game win streak when they host Northumberland Nighthawks on Thursday night.

The Petes would like to thank their sponsor of the week Chemong Family Dental.
