Service Master Restore Atom AE Petes pick up a Trio of Wins
The Service Master Restore Atom AE Petes had a busy week, picking up 3 wins, a tie and moving into first place in the Lakeshore Division.

Their week got started with a Wednesday night (Nov. 22) road trip to Pickering where the Petes faced the Panthers for the first game of a home and home series. The Petes opened the scoring on an Archer Stalteri goal at the midway point of the first, but saw the Panthers respond soon after.

After seeing the Panthers go up 2-1 only seconds into the second period, the Petes regrouped and found their stride, scoring six unanswered goals off the sticks of James Chandra (2), Caeden Kent (2), Sam Dickey and Jayden Howson.

Assists on the night went to Josh Watson (2), Tobey Skopelianos (2), Kent and Cole Scanlan.

The Petes returned home on Saturday (Nov. 25) to finish off the home and home series with the Panthers.  There was an added determination in the Petes as they saw their captain – Archer Stalteri – stand on the bench with his crutches following a broken ankle from the prior game.  The Petes dominated this game from start to finish, allowing only a handful of shots and winning 4-0 on goals from Skopelianos, Dickey, Kent and Howson.

Assists during the game went to Skopelianos (2), Howson, Adam Revak and Jack Pacey and the shutout was earned by Brody Carrick.

Sunday afternoon (Nov. 26) had the Petes hosting the Quinte West Hawks for their final meeting of the regular season. Riley Hagerman put the Petes on the board with a first period goal and then Howson followed it up a couple of minutes later.  The Petes continued to apply pressure, but Quinte’s goaltending held strong until late in the third when Kent broke free up the middle for a breakaway goal that sealed the 3-0 win.

Assists on the day went to Watson and Pacey, and Bradley Montgomery picked up the shutout.

The Petes rounded out the week with a Monday night (Nov. 27) trip to Whitby to take on the surging Wildcats who came into the game on a 7 game win streak. The Petes opened the scoring when Howson was able to take an outlet pass from Dickey hard to the back of the net.  Whitby quickly responded with a pair of first period markers and would be up on the Petes until early in the third when Dickey buried a wraparound. Less than a minute later Skopelianos won an offensive zone faceoff to Watson, who buried the one timer to give the Petes the lead. The Wildcats wouldn’t go down easy on this night and with five minutes left in the third completed the scoring to earn the 3-3 draw.

With the successful week of hockey, the Petes have climbed to the top of their Lakeshore division and have improved their record in league play to 16-1-4. The Petes get the weekend off before heading to Uxbridge next Wednesday night (Dec. 6) to take on the North Durham Warriors.

The Petes would also like to thank their sponsor of the week – Pizza Hut.
